NOS DAC, TDA1541, Raindrop Hui. Sony DVP-NS900V Part 01

This is part One. Music playback at 1.50 If you’re looking then you may already know of Raindrop Hui DAC kits. Easily found in a search. This is the DIR9001+TDA1541 2,0B parallel output OS/NOS board. The PSU is a 115/230v audio R-core 18V-0-18v 0-9v sourced from along1986090 on eBay. In sequence: The 2 x TDA1541 chips and SAA7220P/B digital filter. Oversampling or Non Oversampling is selected via 4 position dip switch seated in the filter’s socket. To change settings requires filter removed first. The PSU 18v connections to the board are correctly configured as depicted in clip. As directed by Hui. This is correct 18v-0-18v configuration to rectifier to produce unconditionally stable 5v feed. For case I opted for silver faced 90’s Sony FM tuner from the QS range. Innards removed from Sony tuner. (Aesthetics are important) As I am using a Sony SACD/DVD player as digital source, in menu’s set to PCM output. A true 75ohm screened coax cable used but hard wired directly to board ensuring dielectric is intact after stripping cable. Temporally fit board and PSU into Sony. A stack of good but pig ugly Marantz and Philips late 80’s multibit CD players. Playback in NOS mode. For part two: Fully install and secure board and PSU into case. Connect on/off switch. Connect analoque outputs to board with screened and twisted cable. Install an LED display. Fit heat shrinks. Try 75ohm BNC connection (But probably stick with hard wired?) Grounding. Try a filtered 3 pin power socket input.
